Please don't talk to me; I am trying to heal is a series of performances in which I try to find mental resolution through physically enduring, repetitive tasks.

Please don't talk to me; I am trying to heal (2)                                                                                 April 2016

Please don't talk to me; I am trying to heal (2) is a 3 hour performance in which I write a private thought over and over again, until it fills a whole chalkboard. Each time the performance is repeated, I assess if I feel resolved with the past thought. If I feel resolution, I select a new thought. If not, I write the same one again until I reach some kind of resolution. The performance was repeated, privately and publicly, a total of five times with two phrases.

It was performed at the University Art Gallery at California State University, Chico as part of the 61st Juried Student Exhibition

Please don't talk to me; I am trying to heal (1) is an 8 hour performance in which I try to cover as much of the pavement as possible using small pieces of white chalk. It was performed on the California State University, Chico campus on the pathway between Ayres Hall and Kendall Hall.
