Looking Back is a collection of performance, video and audio works exploring the labor of time, of waiting, of the processes we mentally undergo when reflecting on our lives. I was once recommended a very memorable Radio Lab podcast where they said that memories become polluted over time - that every time we remember something, we actually remember remembering it, thus getting further and further removed from the original experience.

Time has been a hard concept in my life, often difficult to accept its passage and my choices in relation to it. It has also been healing, a constant in times when there was little that could be depended upon.

Performance (6 hours)

A reflection after the completion of this work:

"I've sat and thought about how I've spent time in my life for a total of 6 hours and 18 minutes over the last three weeks. I don't know what to call that time or how to judge if it was wasted or not. Someone I talked to about this piece told me "and you're always going to feel like that" in reference to the title of the piece. I want to think I resolved something after nearly six and a half hours, but I'm still where was. I think I'll always be here."
