The Archive is a cumulative practice, bringing the archival, editing and synthesizing processes that I do in the hidden part of my artistic practice into the light as an installation, puzzle and performative stage.
The Archive is inspired by my mother, the creator and curator of The Original Archive, a collection of my school papers, drawings and miscellaneous photos in the basement of my childhood home. I have the heart of a collector, an appreciation for small details and patterns and a penchant from obsession, for which I have her to thank.
Archive 1 was installed in 2023 at Kunstakademie Münster, featuring five video works spread throughout the timeline of my artistic practice and selection of collected notes, objects, sources and drawings arranged according to their connections to the works and to each other. Visitors were invited to tiptoe through the room in exploring the materials, spending amounts of time in the installation which led them to become performative elements themselves.
